What it takes to be in the top 1%
Good morning 🌞
Something hit me hard this week.
It’s about the similarity between being financially wealthy and wealthy in the things that matter.
Let me explain.
If we look around, everyone wants financial freedom and wealth.
Here’s the reality…
Everyone wants to be a millionaire, but few want to put in the work that is required to do so.
People look for easy shortcuts to make money.
If you make $650k+ a year, you’re in the top 1% of individuals in the United States - the wealthiest country in the world.
How absurd is it for one to want a top 1% life and think it’s going to be easy?
If it were easy, everyone would do it!
I look at building a family the same way.
When we choose to build a family and domestic church, we aren’t choosing an easy life.
Nothing in life worth doing comes with no adversity.
Choosing to build a family and domestic church puts you in a rare category today.
Especially in a country that seems obsessed with setting up an economy and culture built for dual-income couples with no kids.
It will come with its fair share of backlash and sacrifice.
You will have a lot of people who simply don’t understand your reckless disregard for frivolous material things and cultural events.
And that’s okay.
You will find other couples and families on the same path as you.
You will build community.
A community of like-minded individuals striving to build families and saints.
Lean into these communities and help each other get to heaven.
And know all of it will be worth it.
With the grace of God, you will be wealthy in the things that matter.
God bless,
Mitch and Taylor
