Starting a Domestic Church Routine
Good morning 🌞
It’s January, and I think I’ve heard the word “routine” at least 100 times.
Everyone’s talking about trying to get “back into a routine.”
That’s generally a good thing.
We are trying to establish and get into a routine ourselves.
Taylor is starting school back up on Monday and it’s going to be quite a change from what we’ve gotten used to the past month.
We made it a priority this week to establish a healthy routine for our domestic church.
Some people talk negatively about “routine,” but the truth of the matter is, we are nothing without it.
Routine requires discipline.
Here’s how we did it…
We intentionally met to discuss what are day-to-day will look like when Taylor starts school. What will our mornings look like? When will we pray? What will each of us need from the other?
We began preparing. We stalked up on everyday items we know we’ll need to be successful. We talked about what meals will look like, what evenings will look like, etc.
We rested. We took this week (and are taking today and tomorrow) to just rest and be together. We won’t be together as much starting on Monday, so we want to be intentional about rest and time together.
Long story short, establishing a routine for your domestic church can free you and your family to live out your vocations and make each day a gift to the Lord.
It requires discipline, communication, and more communication.
A healthy routine might just be what you need to kickstart a thriving life with Christ.
What does your domestic church routine look like?
Hope you all are having a blessed start to 2024!
God bless,
Mitch + Tay
