3 things for Advent in your domestic church
Good morning 🌞
Advent is just around the corner.
While Advent is a time to prepare for Christ’s birth, it’s also important to prepare for Advent itself.
Just like Lent, it’s a good idea to have a solid game plan for you and your family.
Here are a few ideas/tips to prepare for a fruitful Advent…
1. Set up a prayer space
This can be as simple or elaborate as you’d like.
Grab a crucifix, rosary, prayer books, and a candle and you have a small space where you can focus on prayer.
2. Find an Advent study guide
Last year, Taylor and I read Rejoice! Advent Meditations with the Holy Family and may do it again this year. Fr. Mark Toups has that and a few others that you can check out here.
3. Stop scheduling stupid stuff
We often overload our schedules during Advent and Christmas with shopping, parties, to-do lists, etc.
Stop.
Being busy does not lead to holiness.
Quiet your heart and only say “yes” to things that will draw you closer to Christ and prepare for His birth.
We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving and Advent!
